Are MOOCS part of the STEM solution?

It's unclear exactly what role massive open online courses will play in helping to train tomorrow's technical workers, but it's clear that MOOCS are shaking up the higher-education arena. Some say the courses' use of multimedia methodologies may be better suited for science, technology, engineering and math -- STEM -- education than traditional classrooms. Others question the rigorousness of such programs.
