Calcium supplements linked to lower death risk among women

Women who received a daily supplement of up to 1,000 milligrams of calcium were 22% less likely to die during a 1995-2007 study than those who did not take the supplements, Canadian researchers reported. However, calcium supplements had no significant benefit among men. The findings will be published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
