Canada to lift certain restrictions on MSM blood donation

Health Canada is changing its deferral policy for blood donations from men who have had sex with men. As of July 22, MSM celibate for five years may donate. Canadian Blood Services and Hema-Quebec had called for an end to the lifetime deferral policy and the implementation of the five-year restriction.
