Idaho, N.M. want feds' assistance on starting health exchanges

Idaho and New Mexico, which had decided to run their own health insurance exchanges, are asking the federal government for help in readying their computer systems for the forthcoming marketplaces. "It's a real task to be able to put this all in place by Oct. 1," said James Damron, New Mexico's health insurance exchange board chairman. The development brings to 36 the number of states in which the federal government will operate all or part of an exchange.
