N.C., Iowa AGs rebuff N.Y. tack on foreclosure settlement

Comments from Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller, who helped negotiate the foreclosure settlement, and North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper, who is on the monitoring committee, indicate they are not on board with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in his combative approach to the banks. Cooper said a lawsuit, which Schneiderman has threatened, could take years. He said a better approach is following compliance actions laid out in the settlement for banks that have fallen short of the servicing standards.
