Pets may soon be able to travel on Amtrak

If newly introduced legislation is passed, Amtrak would allow animals to travel in special cars designated for passengers with pets. The Pets on Trains Act would require Amtrak to develop a pet policy. "My dog, Lily, is a part of our family and travels with us to and from California all the time. If I can take her on a plane, why can't I travel with her on Amtrak, too?" said Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Calif., who notes that the pet-friendly policy could increase revenue for Amtrak.
