Responsive design offers benefits, challenges for publishers

Responsive design allows news websites to publish faster, but trying to fit content for use across multiple devices can pose a challenge, said an Internet Week panel of media experts. One of the biggest changes in news site design is how many readers' first point of contact is the article rather than the home page, the panel noted. Sites such as Mashable adapted by using infinite scrolling features on articles to help readers discover additional content at the end of each story.
