Should schools rethink their approach to discipline?

School districts should revise their approaches to student discipline, starting with qualifications for suspension, writes Sarah Omojola, former educator and statewide education advocate for pro bono law firm Public Counsel. In this commentary, Omojola writes that removing students from school only compounds the issue. Rather, she suggests schools address students' behavior while keeping them in school -- giving them access to the services and support they need.
