Survey: Americans save $12,000 a year with smartphone apps

Users of smartphone applications save about 88 minutes a day, or 22 days a year, according to a Harris Interactive survey for ClickSoftware. Translating time into money means the apps save those users $12,000 a year, the survey says. "Given the world's massive immersion in mobile computing, it has been an eye-opening exercise to measure a facet of its influence on modern America, and certainly, specific professions that rely on mobility to support job performance have the potential to derive an even higher dollar figure than $12K," Click Software's Gil Bouhnick says.
