Brisbane posts strong on-time results

A new runway management system and better weather have eased flight delays at the Brisbane airport this year. The airport's on-time departure performance averaged 86.7% while on-time arrivals averaged 82%. "So many factors play a critical part in achieving excellent on-time performance," an airport spokeswoman said. "Could be good weather across Australia, good operational on-time performance for airlines and other airports, less demand during peak times, and/or less diversions and emergency flights to Brisbane Airport (particularly during peak times)." The closure of the airport’s second runway hurt its on-time results in 2013.
