Survival capsules offer safety niche in disasters

A deadly Indian Ocean tsunami disaster inspired Julian Sharpe to develop a personal survival system. He worked with aircraft engineers to develop capsules of various sizes that offer refuge from a range of disasters, including fire. The buoyant capsules have welded tubular steel frames and resist puncturing and crushing. They are also insulated against heat up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
