Whole Foods makes room for private-label organic milk

The chain will stop carrying Horizon Organic's gallon-sized milk but will continue to sell that company's other sizes and products. "The bottom line is that there's only so much shelf space in our stores," a Whole Foods Market spokesman said. Some retailers are turning to private-label organic milk to insure a steady supply as demand for it continues to grow. Horizon Organic is owned by Dallas-based Dean Foods and operates as part of Dean's WhiteWave Foods Co.
