New study indicates raising minimum wage lowers profits

A study by the National Bureau of Economic Research provides new data for the debate over whether minimum wage increases help, as proponents suggest, or hurt, as NFIB maintains, small businesses. The report found profitability was reduced in two analyses, one of companies in a low-wage sector and the other of businesses in all sectors.
