Proteins linked to pulmonary problems in young adults

Research from the federal Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults study shows that low levels of adiponectin in fat cells increase asthma risk in young women. Another team of researchers says high levels of the protein ICAM-1, found in endothelial cells lining the arteries, are associated with lower lung function.
