Employee-run stimulus fund aims to expand broadband

The federal government has provided more than $7 million in broadband-stimulus funds to the California Emerging Technology Fund, a nonprofit group overseen by employees of Google, Intel and other tech companies. While independent of their employers, the CETF -- which has applied for more grants -- benefits companies by funding broadband-access projects, according to the group.
