NBCT works to revise National Board Certification standards

A California National Board Certified Teacher, who co-chairs a committee of the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, recently met in Washington, D.C., with 14 other educators and teaching specialists to begin revising standards for teachers who want to apply for National Board Certification. In the classroom, Suzanne Nakashima, a fourth-grade teacher, is described as shy and soft-spoken but very effective.
