How teachers are using Twitter and why more should

A growing number of teachers are using Twitter to collaborate with other educators, share best practices for classroom instruction and learn about the latest education policies, says former teacher Liz Dwyer. She writes that Twitter has become a top professional-development tool for teachers, but not all teachers have embraced the micro-blogging website because they are hesitant to express their opinions online. However, she argues, teachers can use anonymous identities on the site.
