NBCT: Lessons from a student-teacher

A National Board Certified Teacher, who was paired with a student-teacher for the first time this year, said she learned about her own teaching by watching another educator in action. Sarah Henchey also shares several tips for those paired with a student-teacher. She writes that it's important to be positive, but honest; be supportive, but not forceful; explain the motivations behind decision-making; create opportunities for analyzing effectiveness; and welcome feedback from the student-teachers.
