A4A: Industry looks to avoid "patchwork" of emissions regulations

The International Civil Aviation Organization may delay approval of the procedures recommended by its technical committee for an aircraft CO2 standard by a year. Nancy Young, vice president of environmental affairs for Airlines for America, said the airline industry wants to avoid a "patchwork quilt" of different aviation regulations. "From industry's point of view, we had really wanted the framework to be a very detailed rulebook," Young said.
