AMD makes a power play in mobile processors

Advanced Micro Devices said it is rolling out three processor lines. The Temash line of accelerated processing units is aimed at tablet computers and is said to need as little as 3.9 watts to operate, compared with 9 watts for previous processors. The Temash system-on-a-chip devices are also said to run faster with better graphics and battery performance. AMD is also debuting the Kabini line of APUs for lower-end laptops and the Richland line for higher-end notebooks.
