China's 2012 data reveal no progress on rebalancing economy

Despite a drive to build up its domestic consumption, China last year ended up boosting fixed investment as a share of the economy while the share of net exports declined. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics also showed that household consumption continued to account for only about 35% of the economy as wages and the yuan remained at low levels.
