Norfolk Southern's newly opened $5.9 million Thoroughbred Bulk Transfer Terminal in Knoxville, Tenn., will expand local companies' access to Class I connections. CSX runs a similar facility in the area. "Basically, this will enhance the logistics infrastructure of our region," said Doug Lawyer, Knoxville Chamber vice president of economic development. "It will enhance the ability to bring in raw materials for food production, and we will certainly use that in our marketing toward those companies."
