Travel agents should talk to their clients at the beginning of their relationship to outline each other's role in the travel-planning process and set expectations, Richard Earls writes. "Let the client know exactly what they can expect of you, and explain the principles that you use to determine a good value for the client's travel dollar. ... In turn, let the client know what you need from them to be the best possible travel consultant on their behalf," Earls writes.
