Experts highlight benefits, potential dangers of robotic advances

Experts in a session during the Google Big Tent conference in London debated whether advances in robotics and prosthetics could lead to such unprecedented situations as people wanting to replace healthy limbs with more advanced artificial ones. The experts also discussed the dangers of smartphone hacking in conjunction with devices, such as some artificial limbs and insulin pumps, that can be controlled through mobile phones. "There are great things tech can give you, but we must be aware and be cautious of the problems too," said Dr. Noel Sharkey, one of the panelists.
