Fed's Dudley suggests higher capital requirements for SIFIs

William Dudley, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, suggested that systemically important financial institutions could see higher capitalization requirements than the 2.5% added cushion that Basel III requires of the largest firms. "One could make the case that an even higher SIFI surcharge may be appropriate," Dudley said.
