Gap's turnaround efforts gain momentum

Gap reported a 3% same-store sales rise at namesake and Old Navy stores in the first quarter, and a 43% increase in earnings, as the apparel retailer's turnaround efforts picked up speed. The report shows "that they are executing according to plans to be a global retail brand," independent analyst Marie Driscoll said.
