Gerard urges U.S. to green-light more LNG export projects

The U.S. government needs to approve all permit applications for liquefied natural gas exports "unless there's some reason to say 'no,' and let the market decide," said Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute. His remarks follow the Department of Energy's decision to clear Freeport LNG's export project in Texas. Gerard also believes that opposition to such ventures is declining.
