Hooked Media's twist on discovery boosts installs, play time

Hooked Media CEO Prita Uppal says its applications discovery program is better than competitors because it uses 46 criteria for recommendations, not just a manual curation or social-discovery method. He backs his contention by saying the app's recommendations increase installs by 30% and lead to 33% more play time. And, because much of the recommendation comes in the form of predictive ratings within apps themselves, the company is virtually immunized from being kicked out of Apple's App Store, John Koetsier writes.
