House bill would ease airport screening for disabled veterans

Disabled veterans with prosthetic devices or in wheelchairs would be permitted to wear their shoes, belts and jackets at airport security gates, and they and their caregivers traveling with them would receive expedited screening under the Helping Heroes Fly Act passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. "For our wounded warriors and their families, airline travel will now be a much more dignified experience," said the bill's sponsor, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, who serves in the Hawaii National Guard.
