Lawmakers target VA claims backlog ahead of Memorial Day

Two Republican House lawmakers introduced a bill Thursday that seeks to create a 15-member commission to assesses the Department of Veterans Affairs' system for processing disability claims. Democrats on the same day pushed for the House to pass a bill that would require the VA to start paying benefits to any veteran whose disability claim has been pending for more than 125 days.
