Mich. social-studies teacher to embark on global fellowship

Lakeview High School social-studies teacher Scott Durham will leave Michigan in June for a four-month world tour as part of the Delia M. & Dora D. DeMaso International Study Fellowship through the Battle Creek Community Foundation. Dunham will tour World War II concentration camps in Europe, Moscow for a look at the Cold War, an atomic bomb museum in Tokyo and other sites. "I know I'm going to be a different person when I get home, and hopefully I'll be a better teacher," said Durham, who will return to the U.S. in October.
