Most Americans believe gas exports would spur growth, survey finds

Liquefied natural gas exports would help generate jobs and spur economic growth, a majority of respondents said in an American Petroleum Institute survey. "Industry advancements in hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling have led to a dramatic increase in the estimated recoverable shale gas resources here in the U.S.," said John Felmy, API's chief economist. "The American people get it. The U.S. can be a global energy superpower as long as our leaders pursue smart energy policy."
