Nutritionists say homemade snacks bags save money, calories

Preparing healthy snacks at home can reduce the urge to raid the vending machine at work, nutritionists say. Mixing nuts with high-fiber cereal creates a healthy snack bag, and fresh fruit and vegetables are easy grab-and-go options. Sullivan University culinary nutritionist Cynthia Chandler says that while some packaged snacks run about 100 calories, it may be more realistic to shoot for 150 to 175 calories.
