Study: Food companies make progress reducing trans fat

Data on 270 food products found 66% had reduced trans fat content but only about half had eliminated it, Harvard School of Public Health researchers reported in the journal Preventing Chronic Disease. Dr. David Katz of the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center said that he was surprised the reductions had not been greater but that given the strong link between trans fat and health problems, "any reduction in prevailing exposure is a good thing."
