Utah man gets pilot's license at 70

George Shafer of Ogden, Utah, decided when he was 12 years old that he wanted to follow his father in becoming a pilot. He began his flight training in his 20s but didn't finish until this year, at the age of 70. "That burning desire has been there all of these years," Shafer said. "I thought about everything including the cost. It's not a cheap hobby, but I finally decided, phooey. I'm going to do it. I'm finally doing something I have wanted to do for 50 years."
