President Obama targets airports in tourism initiative

President Barack Obama announced a plan to drive inbound travel to the U.S. by easing the arrival and entry process for foreign visitors and enhancing the experience at international airports. Local governments, airports and airlines should all help create a positive first impression, he said. The initiative is part of efforts to boost annual international arrivals to the U.S. to 100 million by the end of 2021, which is one of the goals stated in the 2012 National Travel and Tourism Strategy.
