Mall seen as integral to Costco growth strategy

Costco chairman Jeffrey Brotman says shopping centers are becoming more important as the chain looks for quality sites to add new stores, especially in urban regions. Because its merchandise is usually so different from traditional mall offerings, Brotman says the big-box retailer seldom competes with mall sales and in some cases may boost overall mall sales.
