Reality escapism, despite being oxymoronic, rules the fall schedules

The broadcast networks are serving up a menu heavy on reality fare for the fall season. The New York Times reports that the trend toward escapist reality shows began after Sept. 11, and has resonated with both viewers and advertisers. Comedy shows don't feature heavily in the schedules.
