Salt intake overlooked in healthier diets

Experts believe Americans are consuming too much sodium, even when they try to eat healthier foods. With most Americans consuming at least twice the recommended daily amount, health professionals say ignorance about sodium is adding to a hypertension problem in the U.S. One in four Americans has high blood pressure, according to the National Institutes of Health.
