Ad revenues drop in first quarter

Local broadcast TV revenues slipped 3% in the first quarter of this year compared with the same time frame last year, according to Television Bureau of Advertising's analysis of TNS Media Intelligence/CMR estimates that were based on information from the top 100 markets. A 5.6% drop in syndication revenues and a 6.5% dip in broadcast revenues led to an overall industry decline of 5.3%.
