Board rejects permit for development on Chesapeake island

The Maryland Board of Public Works has voted to reject the wetland permit for a development including 1,350 homes on Kent Island, east of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Gov. Martin O'Malley said the developer behind Four Seasons at Kent Island, K. Hovnanian, had "jumped through every hoop, but this is not a canine exercise."
