Deal-making and general networking are expected to be robust at RECon 2010, with about 30,000 retail developers in attendance at the industry trade show held by the International Council of Shopping Centers at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week. "Everything we see is moving in a positive direction," says Terri Sturm, president of Las Vegas-based retail developer Territory, who has appointments scheduled for every half hour during the show. ICSC reports similar progress. "We are already seeing the blossoming of new stores," says ICSC President and CEO Michael P. Kercheval, noting that ICSC's membership has risen to 57,000 after a slump last year during the depth of the recession.
