Capital Shopping Centers sells U.S. stake to Equity One

Capital Shopping Centers Group announced it is selling its U.S. subsidiary, Capital and Counties, to Equity One in a $258.3 million transaction. In a surprising twist, through the all-share deal the U.K. REIT is keeping a stake in the business. Equity One, which is using the acquisition to expand into California, will assume $330 million of mortgage debt.
