New FAA regulations for light-sport flying are making it easier for would-be pilots of all ages to take to the sky, says Ohio flight instructor Randy Thompson. Students seeking a sport pilot certificate can complete their training quickly, enabling them to pilot more than 100 models of aircraft weighing between 1,320 and 1,430 pounds.
