Low demand prompts Carnival to cancel air, hotel programs

Carnival Cruise Lines has cut two air programs and plans to discontinue its pre- and post-cruise hotel packages, citing a lack of consumer demand. Few travel agents said they had booked the programs and were therefore not surprised by the move. Some said they expected other cruise lines to follow Carnival's lead. "We anticipated this as an overall industry trend heading into 2010," said Dwain Wall, senior vice president and general manager of CruiseOne and Cruises Inc.
