Teachers at Utah schools that boast the best test scores say their success is because of professional collaboration. Teachers at one school meet weekly in professional-learning communities, where they discuss best practices and how to meet the needs of individual students. "We talk about what we are seeing and how we can strengthen each other and the school," said teacher Don Sheffer. "We diagnose needs and figure out how we can address those needs."
