Blood pressure management improves with online pharmacy care

Accessing Web-based pharmacy care could help patients with hypertension control their blood pressure even a year after they stopped communicating with their pharmacists online, according to a study by the Group Health system in Seattle. The study found that 60% of participants who had online access to pharmacists were able to control their blood pressure to less than 140/90 for 12 months after ending the intervention, compared with about half of those who received usual care and those who were trained to monitor their blood pressure at home.
