Companies that provide a more transparent process when layoffs and cost cuts occur have more productive employees because trust levels are higher, according to surveys from Interaction Associates. The firm found that the highest-performing companies value employee and customer relationships, while companies focused on productivity and cutting costs were more likely to fall short of their profit goals.
