NASA preps TESS observatory for mission to find habitable planets

Identifying exoplanets that may be habitable will be the task of NASA's TESS observatory. The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite will follow up on the mission of the Kepler observatory that identified many new planets that have several times Earth's mass. The goal of TESS is to find planets that could contain liquid water for further study by the planned James Webb Space Telescope.
