Senators say immigration reforms won't be derailed

The Senate's Gang of Eight say they'll push through immigration reforms successfully, as long as they stick to their game plan and stick together. The group will hold daily meetings to discuss votes on the various amendments proposed by their colleagues and will try to avoid splintering into factions in the face of tough votes. "We want a full and fair debate on the floor, but we've also agreed that the core concepts of the bill cannot be undone," said Sen. Charles Schumer, the bill's lead Democratic sponsor.
